Then it probably is.

We all belong to The One.

We own nobody.

He was never hers,

She was never his.

It came out of the blue,

In a difficult time.

Left me quite confused.

Was it an angel in disguise?

Came to teach me a ton.

Taught me I need to change.

Taught me to cherish the good.

It was all very strange.

From it I learnt to be wise.

Speaking less will suffice.

Stay on track for The One,

For Allah alone we sacrifice.

The encounter was lengthy,

But short-lived at the same time.

I gathered what I needed,

And whatever I could find.

…

Then, it vanished into the distance.

No response, no trace.

Can vividly yet vaguely,

Remember a face.

…

Take a look in the mirror.

It’s a wake up call.

It’s time to get up now,

Or forever fall.

…

Hours, months and years.

Still on my mind.

Have I managed to fix me?

Have I at least tried?

…

So many lessons I learnt,

Can’t always answer the ‘why’.

Only Allah, The One knows,

Was it an angel in disguise?
