Snooze. A poem by OnlyForTheOne

Click snooze.

Check later.

Does it matter?

I’ll wake up in my own time.

Unclued.

Used.

Wrong fit shoes.

Myopic, acting half-blind.

Bruised.

Refused.

About to lose.

Don’t know where I should reside.

No food.

No mood.

Hands are glued.

Is it just time to resign?

Clicked snooze

Wake later.

Will it matter?

Things keep piling up inside.

Too Confused.

To Choose,

Not to lose..

Should have woke or at least tried.

Clicked snooze.

Woke later,

And it matters,

I’ve got so much on my mind.

Cruise…

Through…

6 ft blues…

Thoughts of death are on my mind.

Pains and stains,

Covering my heart,

Run back to Allah,

For a fresh new start.

Have I done enough good deeds?

Have I repented for my sins?

Did I carefully plant the seeds?

Or did I throw it in the bin?

It’s not too late,

Don’t procrastinate…

Wake up now,

The time is NOW,

To change…

DON’T click snooze

Wake now and,

Make tawbah,

Rush to wash,

And stand and pray.

Today’s,

The day,

Where you will say,

I have really truly changed.

I’m done,

Snooze means lose,

I will get up for The One.

Only For The One

Aishah (May Allah be pleased with her) reported:

The Prophet (ﷺ) said, “The two Rak’ah before the dawn (Fajr) prayer are better than this world and all it contains.”
