Salt On Wounds- By Only For The One
Salt On Wounds- A poem By Only For The One
Stepped into the sea,
Went for a swim,
Got caught on the rocks,
Slipped and I cut,
Cut open my foot,
Was not a good look.
It was painful indeed.
…
Took to the shore,
Sat on the sand,
Foot in my hand,
I see what I see,
Felt what I felt,
Deduced in the end,
The cut’s kind of deep.
…
Was a nomad abroad,
Stuck in a room,
No antiseptic with me,
Just a plaster or two.
What could I do?
Scoured the room.
Then it occured to me.
…
The fries from my lunch,
Came with some sauce,
Pepper and salt.
Exactly what I need!
Time to improvise.
No time to waste,
I was in pain.
…
Washed up my foot.
Held on to the salt,
Shook the shaker on the cuts.
Darn did it burn.
Sure did it sting.
Still I kept on,
I must be insane.
…
Salt on my wounds,
Salt in my blood.
It hurt more than the cut,
Just kept my mouth shut,
Took it on the chin,
Grateful from my heart,
Dozen thoughts in my brain.
…
The pain had gotten worse.
Soon it wore off.
I repeated the steps for days,
Till the cuts sealed up.
The salt on my wounds,
Were needed to heal,
Though it wasn’t fun.
….
Life is a test.
Sometimes we fall.
Fall and get hurt.
But we must get back up.
At first it will be tough,
You have to persist.
And get the job done.
…
Pray everyday.
Work on yourself.
Achieve all your dreams,
As best as you can.
Travel the world,
Make it a better place.
Only For The One.
