Peace Of My Mind.

In the not-so-distant past,
I was fear,
I was lazy,
And I didn’t know which direction to take.
I was stunned.
I was stunted.
I was disillusioned and disappointed,
Fatigued by all the faulty fakes.
Fast forward to a few years ago,
I resisted and I just barely existed.
But I found myself again.
I learnt to be appreciative,
For all the blessings that I took for granted.
Where have I been?
Wake up, oh me…
Stuck under my rock.
Hidden in my cave.
They tell me, “hey you need to change”.
They say “hey, a little mistruth here won’t hurt..”
“Tell a few tales and just fake it.”
“Cos they’re the ones getting up and growing
But here you are stuck, and can’t shake it.”
They keep on whispering,
“Listen it’s not happening.”
“So why don’t you let it go?”
“Water down your ethics.”
“Drop your principles and assimilate.”
“Or be stuck in your ways,
And accept that you’ll have to wait…”
They say I’m not from this era,
Cos I don’t confrom.
Maverick in a materialistic macrocosm.
It’s a perfect storm.
They make me question me.
I see where I could’ve been.
But what I am is what I’ve known.
Rock the boat with a little truth.
Their true colours have now shown.
Now I’m stuck here on my own.
But I’m proud of how I’ve grown.
I’m not done yet though.
I’m not alone.
Stranger, stanger by the day.
Won’t stop to reason, just walk away.
Make it, don’t fake it.
That’s how I want to roll.
Because if you want a happy ending,
You better believe and keep your heart pure.
We’re here only for The One.
No doubt about it, for sure.
I feel what you feel.
I lost what you lost.
But I gained through the pain,
And I’d do it all over again.
Cos they say I’m not from this era,
And they say I’m not from this age,
All because of the values I refuse to change.
So hey, here take a
Piece of my mind,
And I’m not unkind
I’ll leave it all behind,
Because I’m searching to find…
The truth and I
Know where to go…
Back to The One,
Allah, my Creator.
And I, did indeed find, the peace of my mind.
Come along, come along, come along
And join.
The peace of my mind,
I did indeed find,
When I did decide
To run back to The One.
For sure, you can find it too,
Just be sincere, in all you do,
They say I’m not from this era,
And neither are you,
If you want to stay true,
Don’t give up your values.
You do you…
And you will find,
Your peace of mind.
